Tokyo Tower – The symbol of Tokyo

When speaking to the symbol of Tokyo, somehow they still refer to Tokyo Tower instead of Sky Tree. Other than a tower, this is actually a very enjoyable sightseeing location. In this article let's discover Tokyo Tower from basic to details!

About Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is a communications and observation tower whose construction began in 1958 (the year of Showa 33), in Minato-ku. It consists of a large 150m-high observations deck, a 250m-high special observations deck and a "foot town" shopping mall at the base. The overall height is 333m and coincidentally opened in the year of Showa 33, all related to the number 3.

Tokyo Tower is open 7 days a week. You can take in the entire landscape of the city from the observation deck. In the evening, they have different types of lighting for each season and event. This is a very popular spot for dating. In addition, with various amusement facilities such as the Tokyo Tower Aquarium, the Tokyo One Piece Tower, many cafe/restaurants, shops...in foot town, anyone from children to adult can enjoy going to this place.

* The 250 m special observation platform is currently being renewed and scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2017
