Ometesando is a big boulevard on covering a not-too-steep slope from Harajuku station going toward Omotesando Hills in the Gaienmae station direction. There is a feel of Europe along the boulevard due to the trees and brand-goods shops that line it. However, since it is a major thoroughfare heading to Meiji Shrine, it has a Japanese feel as well.
The side streets such as Takeshitadori are filled with people as there are many small boutiques and fashionable stores. So Omotesando has a rather unique feel due to the people coming in and out of side streets. It is well-known for its beautiful street illuminations during wintertime.
